Prof. Hannon is a Consultant General, Colorectal & Laparoscopic Surgeon. He is a medical graduate of University College Dublin and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Prof. Hannon’s  practice is based at The Beacon Hospital, Dublin  and Aut Even Hospital, Kilkenny.
Prof. Hannon is a founding member of the Court of Examiners at the RCSI. His memberships include the IACP, ACPGBI, ESCP and ASGBI. He has been appointed UCD Associate Clinical Professor & Clinical Lecturer in Surgery & Surgical Specialties, UCD School of Medicine.
Prof. Hannon’s research interests include medical education   and enhanced recovery after colorectal surgery (ERAS).
